About HEX from Ethereum (HEX)

What is HEX from Ethereum (HEX)?

eHEX is the original ERC-20 version of HEX that has lived on Ethereum since its launch by Richard Heart on 2 December 2019. It functions as a decentralised certificate of deposit: holders stake eHEX for anywhere from one day to 5 555 days and mint yield paid from a maximum annual inflation of 3.69 percent. Longer and larger stakes earn proportionally higher returns, while early withdrawals are penalised, with penalties flowing to compliant stakers. Because the smart contract is immutable and self-custodial, stakers control their rewards end-to-end with no middlemen.

After PulseChain forked Ethereum on 13 May 2023, eHEX could be bridged to the new chain and traded as a PRC-20 token that maintains 1:1 price parity with its ERC-20 counterpart. Bridged eHEX lets users interact with PulseChain’s sub-cent fees and three-second blocks while keeping its value anchored to the deeper liquidity and exchange listings of Ethereum. Staking logic and inflation remain identical on both chains; the difference lies in transaction costs and where liquidity pools are deepest.

Supporters of eHEX value Ethereum’s long-established security, institutional custody options and broad exchange access. They argue that large, long-term stakes are safest on the mainnet despite higher gas fees. Traders who bridge eHEX to PulseChain gain cheaper and faster swaps, but the bridged supply must always match locked ERC-20 balances, keeping the two prices in sync. Many “Hexicans” choose to stake eHEX on Ethereum while simultaneously holding or staking pHEX on PulseChain as a way to balance security with low-fee flexibility.

The Origin Address that received the majority of initial HEX supply continues to restake eHEX rather than sell, a policy that supporters say reduces circulating supply and aligns incentives with long-term price appreciation. No eHEX from the Origin Address has ever been sold. Whether eHEX on Ethereum or bridged eHEX on PulseChain ultimately garners more liquidity, the contract’s hard-coded rules ensure transparent, predictable inflation and reward distribution across both environments.

The contract address is 0x57fde0a71132198bbec939b98976993d8d89d225 and was launched 2Y 2M ago.
