What is PulseChain (PLS)?
PLS is the native coin of PulseChain, a high-performance blockchain created by entrepreneur Richard Heart—also known for HEX, INC and PLSX. Launched as a hard fork of Ethereum, PulseChain mirrors Ethereum’s full state yet runs on a more efficient proof-of-stake design, allowing transactions and smart-contract calls to settle in seconds while keeping fees consistently low.
Every on-chain action is paid for with PLS. Users spend small amounts of the coin as “gas” whenever they transfer value, deploy a contract or interact with a decentralized application; those fees are then distributed to the network’s validators. Anyone who stakes 32 million PLS can operate, or delegate to, a validator and earn block rewards for helping to secure the chain. A wrapped version, WPLS, follows the ERC-20 standard, making it straightforward to bridge liquidity between PulseChain and Ethereum.
You can buy PLS on several platforms with via your bank or credit card or by bridging assets from Ethereum to PulseChain and swapping for the native token on a PulseChain DEX aggregator. Wallets that bridge via the official bridge receive an airdrop of 3,690 PLS from the bridge bot, giving newcomers enough balance to cover their first transactions on-chain.
